Home to more than 3,000 animals, many of which are endangered or threatened species, the Zoo is also committed to supporting wildlife and habitat conservation in the region and across the globe.

Sponsorship Manager

Department: Marketing & Communications
Supervisor: VP of Marketing, Communications and Events

Starting Salary Range:  $77,835-$90,000, commensurate with experience

General Statement:    
The Sponsorship Manager is responsible for generating revenue by connecting corporate partners to the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation (ACNC) mission.  This sales-oriented position works to provide unique marketing and promotional opportunities that align with the ACNC’s mission. The Sponsorship Manager is directly responsible for pursuing and securing sponsorships as well as facilitating and fulfilling deliverables of sponsorships.
 
Essential Duties:        
  1. Provide quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive, and professional) working attitude and appearance.
  2. Support and promote the ACNC’s mission of advancing the stewardship and conservation of animals and their habitats while providing experiences that inspire people and motivate them to care for the natural world.
  3. Generate revenue by developing, securing, and managing corporate funding, the Corporate Club program, corporate grants, and sponsorships of the ACNC’s exhibits, special events, experiences, and programs.
  4. Identify, cultivate, solicit, secure and steward corporate prospects for each of the Zoo’s annual community events, special fundraising events, onsite sampling opportunities, educational programs, guest experiences and co-promotions.
  5. Develop customizable sponsorship proposal templates, cross-promotional agreements, and promotional copy along with program overview documents to use in solicitations.
  6. Prepare timely sponsorship recaps to engage repeat or multi-year sponsorship commitments.
  7. Collaborate with various departments including, but not limited to Donor Relations, Communications, Events, Guest & Member Services, Living Collections and Learning & Engagement to develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of the ACNC’s corporate funding opportunities, defining associated benefits and appropriate recognition/naming.
  8. Collaborate with appropriate departments to identify and pursue in-kind donation opportunities.
  9. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with corporate sponsors and donors.
  10. Collaborate with other business units to meet the ACNC’s overall revenue goals and objectives.
  11. Maintain on-grounds corporate sponsor displays/signage. Facilitate sponsor onsite activations and tours. Monitor and ensure proper recognition is fulfilled on owned channels.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  2. Five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, sponsorship, media sales, or related area.
  3. Demonstrated success in securing corporate funding and/or media sales.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Strong sales skills and ability to effectively secure corporate funding within the community.
  6. Strong self-motivation and ability to provide quality customer service to both internal and external guests.
  7. Possession of valid driver license.
  8. Ability to pass pre-employment background and DMV check, and drug test.
