On midsummer’s evening as light fades and the night creatures emerge across the water, our friends at WildWise will provide a special night paddle on the River Dart. Limited in numbers, this is a special event for which there is a charge of £27 per person.
We were last able to offer this in 2016 as part of Language, Landscape & the Sublime. For those who took part, it is remembered as a special moment of calm and wonder. It was raining lightly then, a warm summer rain on what would otherwise have been a balmy evening. The paddle began in the late day’s light, which continued to fall into the long midsummer dusk. The bats, as they always do, came out to investigate.
The paddle starts around 9.30pm and goes until dark (which in England this time of year is getting on for 11pm).
In order to run NightPaddle we must have a minimum number of 10; there is a maximum of 16.
