Looking for an exciting new adventure? Experience Alaska Tours (EAT) is seeking a deckhand to help lead adventurous tours along the George Inlet on our custom-built Benz Monohull Boats. You will be part of a two-person team including yourself and the captain. As the naturalist, you will greet guests, interact with them and the wildlife along the tour, narrate and teach guests the history of Alaska, and share your love of adventure with all onboard.
Experience dorm-style living with your co-workers while taking advantage of all the amenities our lodge has available. Housing is included in all contracts at no additional cost. After hours or on your day off, you will have access to fishing gear, kayaks, a personal-sized boat, and a campfire area! Our employees get to work and play surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Alaska!
As a deckhand, you will provide a detailed and energetic tour showing guests the beautiful and historic sights along the George Inlet waterway. You will also be handling local wildlife, pulling up crab pots, and walking guests through how to safely handle Dungeness Crab.
Naturalist and deckhand experience is *not* required! We provide in-depth training on ship maintenance, safety, and presentation skills here on site. Come ready to work and learn and we’ll take care of the rest.

What we offer:
Experience Alaska Tours, founded in 2003, operates the historic George Inlet Lodge, located 15 miles south of Ketchikan. Our picturesque, semi-isolated lodge is situated right on the water, with stunning views of the Tongass National Forest, the Pacific Ocean, and all the fantastic creatures that live in both. Except the minks. Those guys are jerks.
We pride ourselves on being a well-known and highly recommended destination here in Alaska’s first city, and we believe that we provide an excellent opportunity to anyone looking to explore, learn some new skills, and make some money over the Summer. We invite you to learn more about employment opportunities here at EAT and apply today! Our summer season starts in early April and ends in October.
Come work with a tight-knit group of explorers and experience life here in Ketchikan Alaska!
