POSITION: Jamestown Technology Support and Integration Coach/Data Support (TSIC)

This position is not part of the Jamestown Teachers' Contract

30 hours per week.
Hours: 8 am - 2 pm, mid-August through June each year
Salary and benefits established by the School Committee based on experience and qualifications

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology and Superintendent

The Technology Support and Integration Specialist (TSIS) enriches and supports teaching and learning by strengthening the technology skills of teachers and staff and promoting the effective use of appropriate technological resources to support student achievement in PK-8 classrooms. The TSIS provides leadership, staff development, and instructional support to all instructional and administrative staff and supports the implementation of district technology initiatives. The TSIS researches, recommends and facilitates the effective use of well aligned resources that enable educators to differentiate instruction to challenge all students. The TSIS develops and offers individual and group coaching and district wide instructional technology education for teachers and administrative staff. The TSIS provides instructional staff with the essential support needed to utilize technology-based instructional management systems. In addition, the TSIS assists the Director of Technology and Hardware Technician as needed on technology related projects and tickets related to technology integration.

Tech Support Responsibilities
  • Assists the Tech Team with administering Sysaid (Ticketing) System to efficiently resolve issues
  • Identifies and escalates situations in the field requiring the attention of the Hardware Technician or Director of Technology
  • Manages Chromebook rollout, training and incident reports
  • Administers curriculum and classroom managementintegrations, including Clever and GoGuardian.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for website issues and training acting as an Edlio (web platform) Super Admin.
  • Provides Aspen Scheduling and Data Management support.
  • Assists with state reporting, including liaising with the contracted district data manager and attending RIDE data manager meetings twice a year
  • Researches and evaluates advancements in technology (tools and resources) to inform decision making and technology budget development
  • Assists Director of Technology and Hardware Technician as needed on other projects as time allows
Tech Integration and Coaching Responsibilities
  • Serves on the district Technology Committee
  • Handles integrations of new curriculum software with Clever/Google Classroom
  • Provides support for state testing and local district testing
  • Collaborates with the District Instructional Coach and familiarizes oneself with tech aspects of curriculum programs
  • Provides assistance and training, formal and informal, to building instructional staff in integrating technology to support student learning and achievement.
  • Works with administrators, teachers, and technology staff to select instructional materials compatible with the school's technology infrastructure.
  • Assists the Librarian with the 2nd Grade Technology Boot Camp
  • Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities, such as the RISTE Tech Coaches Working Group.
  • Collaborates with teachers in designing effective blended learning, content based instruction and projects and supports the teachers as they implement these with their students
  • Prepares and submits accurate reports as requested and/or required
  • Fulfills other responsibilities as determined by the Superintendent
