The Research Assistant assists with some or all of the following tasks: the gathering and analysis of research data from the laboratory or the field; attending to the needs of animals in managed care, plants, biological samples, and/or community members. This position reports to a Supervisor level or higher in the Conservation Science & Wildlife Health department.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as a valued team member, able to follow detailed protocols, communicate effectively with team and partners, and be proactive in problem solving. The ideal candidate will have experience in husbandry and care of rodents ex-situ and field surveys in-situ. Ability to work under adverse conditions such as shifted night schedules, extreme temperatures, exposure to sun, wind, and varied terrain is highly valued as is experience with data management and operating a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
