Overview:

Our Housekeeping Team helps create a lasting impression of our hospital to patients and visitors! The housekeeping staff are a crucial part of ensuring each and every patient is provided a clean, quiet, and calming environment. Mercy housekeepers regularly interact with our patients, visitors, and coworkers in a warm and frienldly manner.

Environmental Service Techs are responsible for basic cleaning functions in all areas providing a sanitary and aesthetically pleasing environment. These areas include but not limited to: patient rooms, bathrooms, treatment rooms, conference rooms, elevators, stairwells, corridors, office areas and lobbys. Additional responsibilities may include the movement of patient room furniture, hanging of curtains and drapes, the removal of spots and stains from carpet, buffing of floors utilizing high speed A.C. powered equipment and other assigned duties related to the Evironmental Services Department. Performs the duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Sanitation, Cleaning or Detail work experience in an institutional (school, hospital or hospitality) setting is preferred.
  • Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Other: Solid written and oral communication skills. Customer Service oriented. Must be able to read and understand basic instructions.The physical demands described here are the representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands are below, plus:Minimal: Pushing 67 lbs(rarely) 22# (regularly), pulling up to 34 lbs, kneeling and/or crouching, climbing stairs, carrying 24# (1 handed) and 32# (2 handed), balance, and pinching.Frequent: Griping up to 40 lbs Continuous: hand coordination.
