About Mastercard Strive

Launched globally in 2021 by Caribou Digital and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, Mastercard Strive is a portfolio of philanthropic programs aimed at helping small businesses around the world thrive in the digital economy.

Strive ( is a global initiative of Caribou Digital and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, which aims to empower small businesses worldwide to grow by going digital. Through innovation funds and larger programs, the program funds best-in-class grantees who deliver the most innovative data and digital-first solutions to enable small companies to digitize business operations, access digital financial services and engage in digital markets. We also partner with some of the most transformative global digital platforms to extend these solutions to the small businesses with the most significant potential to use them to catalyze their growth.

Strive EU ( is the latest addition to Strive. The program supports small businesses in the EU as they navigate twin transitions to a more digital and more sustainable economy, which have been accelerated by the unprecedented economic shocks, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. Strive EU seeks to boost the resilience and growth of European small businesses by surfacing new innovations in the EU and improving the entrepreneurial ecosystem with actionable insights, shared learning experiences, and amplified small business voices. The program consists of an innovation fund and ecosystem building (through the Strive EU Business Council and annual convenings and reports).
