About New Buildings Institute

New Buildings Institute (NBI) is 501 c3 at the forefront of a wide range of national/regional policy, program, and technical initiatives focusing on high performance buildings. Widely respected in the industry, NBI works with a variety of stakeholders (such as government agencies, NGOs, utilities, and for-profit companies) to promote improved energy performance in buildings. Projects include building research, design guidelines, policy and code activities focused on making buildings better for people and the environment.

About the Position

NBI is seeking a Social Media and Website Support Specialist with 2-5 years of professional experience to join our Marketing and Communications team and help us continue to scale our presence across key social platforms and maintain up-to-date information on our websites. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with social media planning, storytelling, and strong organizational skills who can effectively communicate across a variety of media and website platforms.

In this role, the Specialist will manage the development and execution of our social media and communications calendar (including copy/ content development and some graphic creation) for NBI and our clients’ campaigns and promotions. Additionally, the Specialist will provide website support through content updates, content and webpage creation, general maintenance and analytics reporting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Social Media andCommunications

· Develop and maintain a comprehensive monthly social media and communications calendar to enhance NBI’s presence and brand

· Create, schedule, and post social content to maximize engagement and drive growth across LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook and other priority social channels while partnering with other teams to design and produce content

· Build and maintain the daily and weekly posting schedules in our HubSpot system

· Engage with NBI’s followers and boost partner content social media

· Ensuring consistent NBI brand messaging and styles across all social and communications platforms

· Stay apprised of trends, industry topics, and upcoming cross-functional updates to activate across NBI’s social and communications channels

· Serve as one of the final set of eyes on content before it goes out in the world & ensure posting in an accurate, timely manner

· Monitor social analytics and communications metrics and provide ongoing social media analytics and reporting updates

· Conduct social listening and report on KPIs

Website, Webinar and Promotions Support and Promotions

· Manage, maintain and update the NBI website and associated pages (this includes backend support such as updating copy, creating hero images, uploading resources/ events, and engaging with external website support agency regularly)

· Track and report on website and online content analytics and create quarterly reports

· Tracking NBI news mentions through Google Alerts and other tools

· Support day-to-day contact management functions within HubSpot CRM andserve as staff point of contact for internal HubSpot training and ongoing learning

· Manage the scheduling and promotion of NBI and client webinars, including registration forms and reports, recordings, attendance reports, and AIA credits

Candidate Qualifications

Required

· 2-5 years of professional experience in social media, marketing, and communications, successfully managing social media and communications calendars across multiple channels

· Knowledge of social platforms and best practices including but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter Facebook, and YouTube

· Outstanding attention to detail (including grammar, formatting, and design)

· Strong written and verbal skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills

· Canva or design program experience for creating social media graphics

· Experience collaborating across internal cross-functional teams to coordinate and maximize campaigns

· Ability to take initiative by owning and managing multiple projects at a time and manage priorities

· Highly competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products.

· Strong experience using WordPress and basic html; experience using Google Analytics and Google Ad Grants a plus.

· Experience working with CRM systems; HubSpot experience a plus.

Desired

· Two or four-year college degree in social media, communications, marketing, graphic design, or related field

· Experience with Zoom webinars

· Video editing experience a plus

· Interest in the energy efficiency or climate-change sector

Compensation and Benefits

NBI offers the following for this position:

· Base salary starts at $52,000- $62,000.

· The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location, and experience.

· Insurance benefits (100% of employee only premiums paid by NBI; new hires are eligible the first of the month after 30 days of employment): Medical, vision, and dental insurance, Life insurance, AD&D insurance, Long Term Disability insurance.

· 160 hours of accrued Paid Time Off (combined vacation and sick for a full year).

· 11 paid holidays.
