Position Summary

In this position, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert on the DFI server, storage, cloud, and datacenter infrastructure (SSCD) platforms and service offerings. You'll partner with both internal and external business partners to ensure the effective delivery of SSCD services and technology; provide expert analysis and consulting services on the preparedness of DFI’s IT infrastructure to meet emerging technologies and industry trends; and develop and lead DFI’s cloud strategy. In addition, you will be directly responsible for providing technical leadership to analysts and administrators in performing those duties, and coordinating the work of task forces and committees, comprised of IT and customer personnel involved in the development and implementation of server, storage, cloud, and datacenter systems/solutions.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (07-32) with an annual salary of $93,600 - $106,828 (or $45 - $51.36 per hour), plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Certain positions within this Department may allow hybrid/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. It is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because this position is required to report to the Madison, WI location at least 2 days per week.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must detail having experience in all the following in order to be considered:

  • Significant experience supporting and administering server, storage, cloud platforms, and data center infrastructure
  • Strong experience applying project management methodologies
  • Working with ITSM and ITIL concepts/frameworks

In addition to having all of the above, well qualified applicants will also have experience in at least one of the following:

  • Serving in a team lead or trainer capacity
  • Performing technical and security fit/gap analysis of cloud service offerings
