The Operations Manager assists the BrightBee core team in running the day-to-day operations of worker placements. Note that this position requires someone to be online from 6:30am-11:30am Eastern Time–that’s when schools are figuring out their staffing for the day! You are welcome to work from home or another remote location of your choosing.

The work primarily involves working with an amazing pool of temporary workers who are dedicated to helping K-12 students and schools, which we call Bees. We love our Bees and spend a lot of time and energy making sure they are well supported as they take short-term work assignments at schools, as well as helping with recruiting, vetting, and training new Bees as we grow. Some of your key responsibilities could include:

  • Supporting daily scheduling, assignments, and logistics during our early morning crunch time from 6:30-11:30am Eastern.
  • Participating in the Bee vetting process, including video conference interviews and background checks.
  • Assisting Bees as they go through state-mandated criminal background checks and other screenings.
  • Communicating with school administrators to troubleshoot any problems and ensure that their needs are being met.
  • Working with the BrightBee product and engineering team to support continuous improvement of the software platform schools and Bees use to match assignments.
  • Providinginternal administrative and clerical support for the BrightBee team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table:

  • Education:
    A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in an administrative or office job is required. Some experience with people management or scheduling is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with teachers, students, and school staff.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly pivot from one task to another without missing a beat.
  • Reliability: Dependability and punctuality are vital for fulfilling on-demand job opportunities efficiently.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for supporting student learning and promoting academic success.
How You'll Be Compensated: This is a part-time hourly position, paying between $25-30 per hour depending on experience and location. We expect that most weeks the Operations Manager will work 25-30 hours per week, however there will also be weeks when schools are partially or fully closed and there will be fewer hours of work.

As an early member of our team, you will have the opportunity to get in on the ground level with many pathways to roles of added responsibility beyond providing on-site support to schools.
