The Licensing Associate will be joining a leading Consumer Products organization which strategically partners with pop culture IP holders to bring products to market which delight fandoms! Your role will be to contribute to profitable revenue growth through supporting the identification, acquisition, execution, and maintenance of key licensing activities.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the preparation of pitches to licensors for new and extending licenses as well as the drafting of Deal Point Memos, working collaboratively with internal team members.
  • Maintain roster chart of active licenses in a database updating key metrics such as term, progress towards guaranteed satisfaction, renewal timelines to avoid business disruption, authorized distribution channels, territories, and sell-off.
  • Obtain licensor franchise updates, synergy calendars, and retail sales initiatives and contacts, organize and disseminate to internal stakeholders as a resource.
  • Help in the initiation of needed License Amendments with Licensors.
  • Liaise with internal Legal Department on the status of contracts, amendments, mark-ups of agreements, documentation, etc.
  • Liaise with Royalty Accounting department and Financial Analysts on licensor requests for information and forecasts as needed.
  • Monitor and provide guidance to internalbusiness departments on compliance with license agreement terms and conditions, such as authorized territories, channels of distribution, and licensor samples. Create informative tools to accomplish this task.
  • Stay on top of trending pop-culture including social media, entertainment, publication, artist, and digital media as potential licensed property opportunities.
  • Follow up on internal leads and requests for new licenses including researching the licensor or representative agent contact and helping on an initial assessment.
  • Prepare insights for sales executives and internal teams as to "why" we secured specific licenses to develop products which satisfy specific consumer demand.
  • Help maximize product development through support, information, and marketing material distribution.
  • Maintain communication between departments and provide details about licensing contracts (i.e., categories, territories, IP etc.)
  • Provide management support in the contract process.
  • Support team with meeting logistics, sample organization, and presentations.
  • Collaborate on PowerPoint presentations as needed.
  • Execute Excel documents relating to potential/current licensing opportunities.
  • Organize trade show/industry event appointments, preparation, and recaps.
  • Travel: Position may involve periodic domestic travel to licensor meetings, trade shows, consumer shows including fan conventions and licensing trade shows.

Experience, Competencies, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • A minimum of 2 years consumer products licensing.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent written communication capabilities, strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to cultivate long-lasting, mutually beneficial professional relationships with licensors and internal team members is a key to your success.
  • Capacity to multi-task, prioritize and manage a frequently changing workload.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. SharePoint knowledge a plus.
