KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG), is the world's leading travel search engine. With billions of queries across our platforms, we help people find their perfect flight, stay, rental car, cruise, or vacation package. We're also transforming the in-travel experience with our app and new accommodation software. For more information, visit www.KAYAK.com.
As an employee of KAYAK, you will be part of a global network that includes OpenTable and KAYAK's portfolio of metasearch brands including Swoodoo, checkfelix, momondo, Cheapflights, Mundi and HotelsCombined. Many employees are dedicated to one brand, but we all have the benefit of using each others strengths and insights. Together, we're able to help people experience the world through dining and travel.
What you're in for:
As a member of the KAYAK North America Creative Team, you are responsible for how the brand comes to life for millions of travelers that use our site - and enticing those that don't. As Copywriter, you are the voice of the brand, embodying our tongue-in-cheek style and conversational tone to help people experience the world through travel. You support all our creative activities - as well as some of our product ones.
This is a full-time position reporting to our Senior Creative Director, based out of our Stamford office (or not).
What we're looking for:
You're highly motivated, passionate about travel, curious and collaborative. You can work with autonomy but love a good group project. You are obsessed with words and can balance business objectives with creative insight. You are immaculate in your copy reviews, but know when to break the rules.
You may have worked at an advertising or creative agency before this, an in-house content design team or maybe you spent the last few years writing for a niche improv comedy team. Whatever made you a writer, you know the power and impact words can have and wield them effectively. Oh… and you don't mind doing away with the Oxford comma.
In this role, you will:
Write incredible copy and punchy one-liners - it all starts with a strong opener.
Create, edit and proof copy and content for all North American marketing activities including email, landing pages, notifications, on-site copy, creative campaigns and social media.
Work with teams to ideate, construct and implement creative campaigns across all marketing platforms.
Organize copy assets and work for historical reference.
Support our Product team with compelling copy for high-traffic spaces, like the front door of our site or onboarding flow.
Work with partnership teams to help prepare client assets.
Experience working with AI/ChatGPT as part of your creative process is a plus.
Write multiple weekly email sends, identifying interesting content and ways we can test content (subjectlines, CTAs, etc) in partnership with Engagement.
Assist in push notifications - both writing and testing possibilities.
Work on transactional emails by writing and developing solutions that work for a variety of target audiences and situations.
Understand email results and adapt practices.
Campaign and content work
Brainstorm ideas for our creative campaigns - understanding scale but being willing to push boundaries.
Partner with our designers to bring concepts to life, establishing a shared understanding of campaign objectives.
Provide insights and feedback on copy across teams - work with other departments in bringing global projects to life.
To ensure that your job search online is successful and safe, there are several things you need to keep in mind when applying for jobs. Before applying for any job, research the company's training and development programs to ensure that they offer opportunities for professional growth and skill-building. Be wary of job postings that require you to pay a fee or provide financial information before you can apply. It is important to confirm the legitimacy of a job posting before agreeing to an interview, especially if it's conducted via text or email. Keep your bank account information private until you are certain that a job posting is legitimate. Be cautious of any job posting that requires payment before you even start working. Watch out for job postings that require you to sign a contract or agreement without proper explanation or review, as this could be a sign of a fraudulent opportunity. If you have any concerns about the job posting, contact the company directly to confirm the job's legitimacy and availability. Confirm that you are on the authentic liquidscapes.info website to keep yourself protected. If a job posting has a lot of spelling and grammatical errors, that's a major red flag.
Understand performance metrics and offer suggestions on how to improve results through testing, changes or new ideas.
