School & Youth Program Assistant Manager - John Ball Zoo Grand Rapids

The School & Youth Program Assistant Manager is accountable for school, youth, and community programming, including establishing, building, and maintaining partnerships, and engaging relevant stakeholders that advance the mission of John Ball Zoo and supports the Zoo’s strategic goals.  The Assistant Manager will lead in creating programs and curriculum that aligns with state and local education standards and the Zoo's conservation education goals.  The Assistant Manager will lead and guide team members in their development to advance their personal skills and the education programs of the Zoo.

Experience Required

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Conservation, Zoology, or closely related field. A teaching certificate is preferred but not required, and at least one year’s experience working with youth 3-15 years of age. Also preferred experience and knowledge of safe animal handling and exhibit techniques. This position will require working some evenings, weekends and or holidays.

Salary

48,000 - 56,500
